i'm back!
POSTED AT 01:21 AM

hey guys! im back after a 3-day hiatus. me and my classmates went to baguio for some rest and relaxation (and for some shopping to boot). i'll be posting the details in my future post, if not a little later, then probably tomorrow. i barely had a chance to sleep because our bus which was supposed to leave 5am for manila left at 7am because of engine troubles... so me and 3 other classmates were forced to wait for 2 more hours. i took this opportunity to sleep even if it was for a short time.

well that's it for now... i'm just really sleepy... i'll be posting the full details soon, so just keep ondropping by my blog for updates.

Baguio - day 1
POSTED AT 03:18 AM

For 3 days - March 30-April 1 - I and my fellow classmates decided to have our post-graduation party. And what better way to spend it than in Baguio! A perfect get away from the scorching summer heat of manila.

We first gathered at my friend's house during the night of the 29th. We spent the night there because we planned on leaving for Baguio at around 4am - knowing that it was going to be a 6-hour trip. Unfortunately though, one of our classmates (who happened to own the house we stayed at) received shocking news just 2 hours before our planned departure. His grandmother had passed away. I can still remember the outpour of emotion that night. All of us were shocked. So, as a result, he obviously was not able to come with us. I just wish his family the best and my sincerest condolences as well.

After a brief stop-over at mini-stop españa, we were off to Baguio! I also took this opportunity to sleep because I haven't slept all day. After the grueling 5+ hours of travel, we finally arrived at Baguio. (You got to go check out the view as the bus travels through kennon road. it was so cool!)

Upon stepping out of the bus, we immediately felt Baguio's chilling wind. It was so damn cold! One of my classmates actually forgot to bring her jacket! We then proceeded to look for a place to stay at for these 3 days. After much pondering, we decided to stay at a place called A.J's pension house.

(From here on, I will summarize the events that happened each day).

Day 1 (March 30)
----------------

Upon arriving at the house, we got all comfy and got to choose our rooms (boys and girls were separate from one another, or so I thought). Seeing that the trip barely made us sleep, we spent almost all day sleeping at the house. The weather was just so cold that you could literally just sleep all day. Anyways, after a brief rest, we went to SM Baguio to have our lunch. SM Baguio actually was an open-type of mall. It barely had any air conditioning systems whatsoever, but who needed it! After some strolling, we made our way to teriyaki boy (that was the name of the restaurant) and we had our lunch there. The food was amazing! Everything there was Japanese that I barely remember what I ordered! My classmate even spelled out his name using some onions, carrots and chopsticks! After the meal we went shopping for food items for the ladies to cook for our dinner (they decided to cook adobo).

Upon returning home, most of us slept, while the others prepared dinner. Dinner was great, by the way. Good thing we had "professional" cooks in the house. We actually planned to visit some more places, but we were just too tired and just decided to stay at home.

At around 11pm, my classmates decided to play "strip shooter". Just like "strip poker", only you get to spin this arrowhead and wherever it points, you must "strip" (remove an article of clothing) or "shoot" (drink a pure shot of ginebra). Most of us went for the “shoot" part, but when there were opportunities to strip, well, strip we did!

(Un)fortunately, I was the only one left topless that night... hehehe... after a few more rounds (we just finished one bottle of ginebra. and yes, everyone drank), we slept and prepared for the day ahead.

(stay tuned for part 2 tomorrow)

Baguio - day 2 and day 3 (the last part)
POSTED AT 03:01 AM

Day 2 (march 31)
----------------

This was set to be a very unforgettable and memorable day for all of us. The day started quite early, as we were up by 7am. We decided that today will be the "official" start of our Baguio sight seeing.

We first went to the beautiful mines view park. Upon entering, lots of souvenir stalls can be seen selling various stuff, from utility knives to wooden statues to foodstuffs.

Anything that can be "pasalubong-material" was sold. We then made our way to the ‘main’ attraction at the park - the "view". It was just amazing to see a part of Baguio from that particular view. Of course, we had picture-taking galore here. Once we've decided to stop, we then decided to visit a place called good shepherd. At first, I thought it was a church or something, but as we got there, it was actually a place where they sell the famous good shepherd ube products and other goodies. But before we went there, we stopped by to take some photos with Douglas - a Saint Bernard. Man, he was huge! My dog-loving classmate was so excited that she couldn't contain herself. Hehehe... anyways, after some photo-ops (which cost 20 pesos per shot), we made our way outside mines view park.

As we were deciding on where to go next, a classmate of mine saw (and actually got to talk to) the pioneer of pinoy rock, pepe smith! And I tell you, he is sooooo tall! About 6'3".anyways seeing as this opportunity comes only once in a lifetime, we decided to take some photos with the rock and roll legend. We had to wait for a few minutes, though, as he was attending to something in the barangay hall at mines view park. Mr. Smith was very accommodating actually. He signed some autographs and posed for some photos. After the photo session, we bid goodbye to Mr. Smith as it was time to go to our next destination, the good shepherd convent.

There was not much to see there, but there was certainly plenty to buy. I, of course, did not buy anything (hehehe). I just enjoyed the Baguio weather.

After buying some foodstuff there, we decided to have our lunch. And what better place to eat than.... mc Donald’s! Yup! Good-ol' macdo. After lunch, we then went to the local market there to buy some more souvenir items - brooms, more food, and more brooms. We also bought some veggies there to cook for our food the next day (the girls decided to cook sinigang).

We went back home to rest for a bit (and also to deposit our newly-bought things). After the brief rest, we then went to our next destination - Burnham Park.

It was actually walking-distance from our place, so we just walked there. We first decided to go boating. We, of course, occupied 2 boats. One with 6 persons and the other boat (the one I was in) had 5. Lo and behold! My classmate, Kelvin, was the "boat master" (e.g. ung nag-sa-sagwan), and quite frankly, he was very good at it! Later on, he told us that he had that boat-like gym equipment at home, so, he knows how to maneuver a boat. We were totally ahead of our other classmates who were struggling with their boat. All in all, it was a very unforgettable experience, especially when night fell and the wind was UBER COLD!

After putting both boats ashore, we then went biking. Most of our classmates didn't know how to bike (I, being one of them. but I do know how to bike the "balanced" bike) so others rented a side car instead. Anyways, we biked for about 1 hour (could be a lot longer, though, by my count). Damn! My feet killed me! Especially when I had some of my classmates ride with me (I rode the one with the side car). After a few minutes, we decided to have a race. It was really a lot of fun. As the night grew late (is there such a term? hehehe), we then had some photo-ops. After a few more minutes, we decided to rest our aching feet and have dinner.

We ate our dinner at KFC. It was not your normal KFC though, as they had their second level underground! (Kumbaga, ung second floor dito sa Manila ay basement sa kanila). Pretty cool actually.

Upon arriving home, most of us were dead-tired we just decided to watch TV. Others still had some fun with the videoke at the first floor of the pension house. At around 12 midnight (I think), it was time for some alcohol. From here on out till about 3:30 am, it was just full of story-telling about lots of stuff that happened during our college life. Of course, I can't tell that here but I tell you, that was one of the most memorable nights of my life. Just hearing the stories of your classmates and sharing your own... I learned a lot of things that night (in addition to me drinking 5 shots of pure ginebra! man, I was sooo tipsy that night!). We were so noisy that night that the guy next door knocked on our door and asked us to "tone it down a bit". We of course, tried to tone it down, but the conversations were just so interesting, exciting, intense, and full of controversy (hehehe). at around 3:30 am, all of us decided to sleep, as tomorrow is going to be another tiring day - our last day in baguio.

"Whatever was said in baguio that night will remain there..."

Day 3 (April 1)
----------------

Ahh... April fool's day. All of us, drunk and tipsy, woke up at around 10am. This was going to be our last day at Baguio. Man, does time fly so fast. As we were getting ready for lunch, the landlady knocked on our door and told us to get the hell out of there because someone's already reserved there! Could you believe it??? Although we were shocked to know that, we thought that our noise the other night was what led to us getting evicted. *sigh*. And it's thanks to that man who knocked on our door last night. Many believed that it was he who requested to throw us out.

Anyways, after our emotional lunch (wherein one of my classmates couldn't take it anymore, and cried), we were then taken to our new home, just a few blocks away from our old home. This new home was nice too, although it only had one TV and one bathroom. Anyways, after we had made ourselves at home, it was time to go to our final destination - the strawberry farm of La Trinidad, Benguet.

It was a long trip. About 20 minutes. But upon arriving there, the view was astonishing. That was one of the first times that I actually visited a real farm. They had lettuce there and of course, strawberries. They also had various types of flowers there. Anyways, more shopping for us there as souvenir shops were everywhere. This was also the birth of the "familia Putingtae", which starred Mia (Amelia Putingtae) Jeck (who's name I forgot... Rodrigo, I think...), Patrick (Berting, the houseboy), and all of us. We had nicknames, of course (mine was Gaspar... hahaha). Anyways, that role-playing bit was a lot of fun. Another one of those unforgettable memories which will be etched in my mind forever. I also got to eat strawberry-flavored taho, which was just absolutely delicious!

After buying boxes and boxes of strawberries, we decided to head home and spend the rest of the day there. I watched WWE RAW, but not on jack TV. It was on this "action" channel. And what's good about it is that it was the exact same episode that will be shown on jack TV later on that night, and it had no commercial breaks! How about that! While I was watching TV, my other classmates decided to go to the grotto there (wherever that was). I chose to stay behind, and pay for it, I did. Hehehe... I fell asleep while watching TV, and little did I know that my classmates have already arrived. When I woke up, I "almost" shouted my ass off, but good thing I was able to maintain my composure. Of course, everybody laughed at it, but its okay. Hehehe... the rest of the night was spent watching the finale of pinoy big brother - celebrity edition, wherein Keanna Reeves won (my bet lost though). Oh, we also ordered some Greenwich pizza for dinner, although mine was almost forgotten. I did, however, manage to eat 11 out of the 16 slices of the beef and mushroom pizza... yum yum!

After some more preparations into the wee hours of the morning (and after some WOWOW action on cable), we left the house at around 3:30 am. My other classmates took the 4am bus to Sampaloc, while we originally were planning to take the 5am bus. But, because of engine troubles, we had to wait for 2 more hours. So, I had no choice but to sleep at the terminal for 2 hours while waiting for the bus to arrive, and I tell you, it wasn't the least bit comfortable.

******************

So, there you have it. All three days of our Baguio sojourn. Although we wanted to stay a little longer, our pockets couldn't handle any more spending (hehehe). But I tell you this, the Baguio experience with my classmates is one of the most memorable and terrific experiences that I will forever remember for as long as I live.

I’m gonna miss you guys...

happy anniversary!
POSTED AT 01:25 AM

i was just browsing through my old xanga site (www.xanga.com/megidoflare) and i just noticed ont thing...

I HAVE BEEN BLOGGING FOR OVER A YEAR NOW!

hehehe... who would have thunk it... a year ago i had little to no interest in this "blog" stuff, but thanks to some persuasions, i finally came to like it. you could even say "addicted " to it.

blogging has done a lot to me. it has been my outlet to a lot of things. anger, hate, envy, jealousy, excitement, happiness, sorrow... i've channelled those emotions and put theme here -- on my blog.

so, i would like to greet myself a "happy 1st anniversary"! i hope to be posting more news in the future!

love.fury.passion.energy -- one year old (and counting)!

anyways, i just finished watching wrestlemania 22 (damn cable. got cut while i was watching it last night!), and it was the BOMB! i'd say it was miles better than last year's wrestlemania. and the chicago crowd was OFF THE CHAIN, especially in the cena-HHH match! a very very partisan crowd, chanting mostly for the game. "Let's go Cena!". "Cena Sucks!". "You Can't Wrestle! (directed to Cena)". but in the end, cena locked in the STFU to force triple h to tap out.

the foley-edge match was awesome as well! flaming tables, anyone!

it's good to see the "old" hbk back, doing the "DX crotch chop" during his match with mcmahon. that brought back some memories...

oh, and triple h also did the DX chop too! could this be a sign???

i read at a wrestling news site that the plan is to turn cena heel at the next ECW PPV (with him facing RVD), and by summerslam, triple h will once again become a babyface. i can't wait to see how that turns out...

well, i've got to end my post now... i got to do some other things...

i'm back! (and better than ever...)
POSTED AT 02:02 AM

hey guys! i'm back!

you might be wondering why i have been gone for so long (3 days, as a matter of fact). well, last saturday madaling araw (very early in the morning.. around 3 a.m.) as i was browsing the net, i suddenly got disconnected because "there was no dialtone".  after checking the phone, it indeed did not have a dialtone. so i reported the matter to my mom, and to my surprise, she told me that all the telephone lines along our street were cut! could you believe that! apparently someone was brave enough to steal the entire telephone line! so there it was... it took three days before our phones had dialtones once again.

*sigh*... what'll people think of next? steal electricity wires??? oh brother...

anyways, i;ve been pretty bored lately. no internet? no problem!

i just finished leveling up my characters on kingdom hearts (not 2). i also managed to beat phantom on my first try despite peter pan getting knocked out! i also finally beat kurt zisa after 4 tries. i, although, haven't ctually beat sephiroth without using "infinite health". as of this post i am still collecting items for sora's ultima weapon. (only need some mystery goos and frost gems).

i also took this "free time" to make my own NBA Playoff series. i'm of course using the lakers. i just swept phoenix in the first round and swept the clippers in the second round. im now leading the spurs 2-1 in the western conference finals. i just hope that the lakers play as well as i play them on Live 06...

hay.... i guess i gotta end it here... i'll probably edit this post when i got something more to say, but for now, i bid you farewell! have to catch up on lost time!

tapos pag nagdodownload ako ng MP3 sa limewire, minimum speed nya ay 20 kb/s... OMFG... grabe... about 4 minutes/mp3.. oh yeah!

hehe... well that's basically what's new in my life... BROADBAND INTERNET RULES!!!

nothing is perfect
POSTED AT 02:11 AM

hay... mahirap talaga pag nashoshort-change ka... tulad nitong PLDT myDSL... fota minsan nagloloko... minsan ndi na lang magbiblink ung mga ilaw sa system tray or sa modem mismo... oh well, i guess broadband internet comes with a price... buti pa ang dial-up... kahit mabagal e medyo guaranteed naman ang service. sa tingin ko e ung PLDT lang ang may problema... taking advantage? i dunno... maybe.. who knows? hehe...

anyways, kanina ay nag-voluntary exit c aldred ng PBB teen edition, which is by the way, the hottest show in the country today! sus, sa mga hunk na lalaki ba naman at mga hot chicks (well, 4 out of 6 of the girls are considered "hot". ung isa kasi e ndi masyadong charming at ung isa ay kamukha ng kaklase kong... hehehe...) yun nga... naging malungkot ang mga housemates sa pag-alis ni aldred... eto naman kasing c aldred, sobrang emotional. he thinks too much. daig pa ko nito a... hehehe.... sometimes you're just a good listener. having nothing to share with the housemates (or with other people for that matter) doesn't make you that less of a person. remember that all of us has a role in life. there are leaders, followers, speakers, listeners; etc. gaya nga ng isang kasabihan, "you cannot please everyone". so, don't try too hard trying to be in the "good side" of everybody you know. meron at merong taong ayaw sayo...

LOL

hay... cge, i'll just end it here before i get carried away.

P.S.

GO LAKERS! (oh yeah! we won game 3! i just hope the lakers protect homecourt again and win game 4. i'm behind you all the way guys!)
