LORD, please help me.

i envy you guys... but i'll do my best...

baccalaureate mass - beginning of the end?
POSTED AT 01:20 AM

well it was our baccalaureate mass for graduating students this past evening. the mass actually started at around 5:30 pm. the mass was LONG! TWO HOURS LONG! well anyways, the fireworks were awesome! it was literally like new year, but nowhere near paskuhan in my view...

a bunch of picture taking sessions during the afternoon... damn, i'm gonna miss those peeps... classmates which i have spent a good 4 years of my life with. despite all the hardships and obstacles (and controversies), we've still managd to make it. IT = CLEAN SLATE. everybody will graduate (well, except of course for some of our "irregular" classmates).

time does fly fast... it was just like yesterday when i first passed through the doors of the P.Hall back in the main building, to our ever-so-exciting enginering days... science still rules, mainly because of the chicks! hehehe...

congratulations to all my classmates. we did it!

Infotech 2006 - The Last Chapter (as told by me)
POSTED AT 01:19 AM

okay... time for my post-graduation post

(note: this MAY contain some emotional messages)

hmm... how to start... well, it has been a very memorable 4 years of stay in UST... a lot of good, bad, and all sorts of memories that will be etched in my memory forever.

(i will be as honest and truthfull as i can. )

first year = this was really a tough year, no just for me, but for all my classmates. This was the adjustment phase, adjusting yourself from high school life to college life. And I tell you, this was no easy feat. Some of my classmates, however, handled it pretty well. I, unfortunately, did not. I experienced my first academic failure ever during this period, when I filed math 101a. If that wasn't worse, I failed ics2 during the 2nd semester, which led me to take up my first (and only) summer sessions. It came as a blessing in disguise actually, as I learned a lot more about programming. This also led me to the realization that college life is no "joke"

Second year = more or less, groups have been formed within our block, and with the acquisition of a new student, things just became pretty interesting. Anyways, our second year wasn't as easy as most of us thought, although the first term was IMO the easiest semester in my entire stay at UST. Despite more hardships and tough times, I managed to pass all my subjects in both semesters, a trend that would continue until my final year in college.

It was also during this year that I started becoming more adept to my surroundings... becoming more independent. It was during this time that I "really" started commuting to and from UST. I learned this from a classmate, and because of this we have started a genuine and unforgettable friendship.

Third year = one of the toughest years yet. This was the year wherein we began studying our "majors". Friendships even grew stronger during this period, and subsequently, some "relationships" even formed during this period.

I can also honestly say that I once again experienced "love" during my junior year. You know the feeling of anticipation. The feeling of wanting to see a person, and when you see him/her, you can't explain what you feel... it's like s/he makes your day. Well, I expressed this in an "unusual and extreme way" during my birthday. A few days after that, I was having some second thoughts on why I did such a thing. This was also the time when I started to like OPM music. I listen to the tunes of 6cyclemind and other bands whenever I feel sad, low, confused, and anxious. Their music is a great stress reliever. As the weeks progressed, things eventually returned to normal, and as a result, another great friendship was formed.

This was also filled with unforgettable memories, like the time wherein we had to do a project in SAD, then 2 of our group mates ended up drunk and puking all over the place! One of my group mates was in such a bad shape that we were thinking of sending him to the hospital! Well, we eventually finished the project, but it did not go quite as we have planned.

Amidst the friendships, some misunderstandings also came about, which lead to some people going at war against another person. This made our block very controversial.

During summertime, we had our internship, which supposedly prepares us for work. Personally, I really did not have a very good time during my internship (except for the last few months). Things would only go form bad to worse, as I learned about a particular event that really "shocked and shook me up".

Fourth year = the toughest year, by far. Although our thesis is the number one cause of this, other factors have also affected it. One being subjects like webtech, Cisco, multimedia technologies, and SRM. This really made us to up our efforts in order to pass these subjects.

If I could compare the fourth year to anything in particular, I would immediately say this: "big brother". I actually predicted beforehand that this would be a very interesting semester. And interesting it became! If controversial is not the word I would use to describe our block I don’t know what will. It was like battle lines were drawn. Every man for him self. A-la the royal rumble. Quoting the late great Eddie Guerrero, "if you're not cheating, you're not trying".

This was also a time that I started doubting myself. I doubted my talents and abilities. But thanks to my friends, I did not make it a major problem in my part.

Thesis really brings out the best in you. It makes you use up reserves you never knew you had. It makes you do your best. It makes you be patient.

It is also during this period that I came to know who my "true" friends are. Friends that I can trust and depend on. Friends that I know will comfort me in my times of despair. Thank you very much.

-----------

At this point in time, I would like to thank these people for making a huge impact in my life:

Raffy >> dude, thanks for everything. From our days as webcam boys to the "advising sessions" I have undergone with you. You’ve taught me a lot and made me look at life a little differently. I know you're going places dude, with a strong will and strong intellect. Good luck in the future dude!

Jeric >> even when you were a new student, I considered you as one of my true friends. I’ll never forget the time when we did that newsletter back in second year. hahaha!!! We smoked that one! I know that you, too, will go places. If not an information technologist, then maybe an actor or model! Don’t worry dude, I’ll be there to see you win Mr. Thomasian 2007! hehehe... thanks also for those "love advices" you've given me. You and shadowmeld have helped me a lot.

Marnelli >> I consider you to be the closest female friend I’ve ever had. (Yes, ever since elementary and high school, as I was really not sociable with women then) we've been through a lot of crazy moments! Food trips, adventures and amazing races, and who could forget that night of October 7 2005, when we (along with Kelvin and mabelle) tracked the España River! That is one experience that I will never ever forget! Anyways, I also want to thank you for teaching me how to commute, and also teaching me almost everything there is to know about manila. I know it'll be helpful in the future. Thanks also for listening to my "grievances" about just about everything. I’m going to miss all our bonding moments. *sigh*. I’m always here. A PM away...

Mabelle >> the second member of the blumentritt buddies, and also one of the closest female friends I’ve ever had. Just to set the record straight, I really liked you. That thing about my revelation? Well I really had it planned. Sorry if that was a little "surprising" for you. Anyways, thank you for the friendship. I’ll never forget our bonding moments as well. Believe it or not, you helped me learn how to love again...

Honestly, I was upset with you for a while, about that whole Matthew thing. I just hoped you'd be more honest with me. After all, we're friends, right? You know, I just don't like knowing things from other people. Oh well... that's long in the past now. If I have offended you in any way, I am sorry.

I will surely miss you. Just want you to know that I am always here. A text, phone call, or instant message away.

Matthew >> although you're just so weird at times, it's just amazing to see how kind a person you are. I see that you really care for your friends a lot. I will surely never forget all those wacky timed we had. 'iba ka talaga magpatawa. kahit malungkot na ang isang tao, nagagawa mo pa rin syang patawanin'. just a simple advise though, I just hope you'll become more mature in handling a relationship, because you clearly have what it takes for girls to fall for you. I just hope you'll be more serious when it comes to boy-girl (not boy-boy) relationships. hehehehe

the rest of the jambang guys (monmon, gari, genesis) >> you know who you are. I’ll never forget those moments we've gone through. through all of the practice sessions, our awit pinoy performance, the harmonics gig, and my sister's debut. that truly is one of the things I have never thought would come true. and I am glad to have spent it with you guys. even for just a short period of time, we've showed them what we can do.

Janna >> even for just a short while, thanks for being a friend to me. from the "telebabad" sessions we've had during freshman summer, to helping me on my programming. I’ll never forget those moments. thanks for the friendship.

Kelvin >> dude, I just know that you're going to go places. continue to excel in what you're good at. take care of yourself. oh, don't overwork yourself either. thanks for the friendship.

and to the entire 4-IT class >> thanks for being kind to me. although I wasn't able to know most of you more, I know that we're still friends, one way or another. as always, I’m just an SMS or PM away.

mixed emotions... mixed feelings
POSTED AT 02:24 AM

damn... it has been barely 3 days after graduation, and i'm feeling all kinds of things....

***yeah, i already miss "some" of my classmates... i dunno why but i sure am gonna miss college life...

now that college life is over, there still are some things to be done... somehow, i'm not yet in the right mindset on what to do. of course i have plans of taking further studies and all that, but it just seems that i'm not yet ready. it's really tough starting on something when your mind isn't there yet...

i'm really confused right now. i dunno... i never thought i'd feel like this... is it just me or does everyone really feel what i'm feeling?

...i'm also missing this particular person... i don't know why but it's a person whom i believe you least expect.

...i miss her because i love her? hell, i don't know... i don't even know what i'm feeling for her...

damn this!
